Articles of history and culture: Alangyi Trail locates at the southern border of Daren Township in Taitung and Suehigh Mudan Township in Pingtung . This trail is also part of the Lang Qiao Puyuma trial and one witness regarding the thousand migration story of Taiwan native peoples. It is the first completely recorded trail, including the native peoples back and forth the mountain, Zhuyi Gui sieged during Qing Dynasty, Englishman Taylor journal, Mutan incident Pan Wenjie mediation, Japanese bombed during the World War II...etc.”  - Pingtung Environmental Protection Alliance

Alangyi Trail has been in my travel list for a long time even now I am very busy to fit in my new school life, I still keep this place in my mind. If you ask me what is the reason bring me so keen on this place. I would said learning from nature, got the answer.

“ The Formosan Black Bear (Ursus thibetanus formosanus, or Selenarctos thibetanus formosanus), also known as the white-throated bear, is a wild black bear and a subspecies of the Asiatic black bear (Ursus thibetanus). The animals are endemic to Taiwan and are the largest animals and only bears (Ursidae) that can be found on the island. They can usually be seen in the mountainous forest areas in the eastern two-thirds of the island, at elevations between 1,000 and 3,500 m (3,300-10,000 ft).” - wikipedia

"An indigenous Bunun hunter once said If there were no bears in the mountains, the forest would look empty and I would feel lonely." - wikipedia

The picture of the Formosan Black Bear was draw on the wall of police office to show what kinds of services you could access from them in this remote village. The idea they choose Formosan Black Bear might due to symbolic of Taiwan and the gesture Bear made is really Taiwanese style, you should take photos with this pose once you come to Taiwan.

The indigenous people decorated the shop with ball float. When we back form Alangyi, our tour guide picks one from there. He said ball float which is made of glass could be painted as “DoDoRo” if you found one with two ears or could be draw as anything you like. Then, you just put it on anywhere you like. At that moment, I was feel encouraged because it seems like people could live here without limitation.

The Paiwan are an aboriginal tribe of Taiwan. The majority of Paiwan people live in the southern chain of Central Mountain Range. Traditionally the Paiwan have been polytheists. Their wooden carvings included images of human heads, snakes, deer, and geometric designs.

A herd of castles on farm is rarely could be seen in Taiwan. That is why Alangyi Trail is the last place without disruption and damage which strongly need to be protected. I could not image one-day grassland or animals could not be found in Taiwan.

We walked along the rock wall and enjoy the beautiful of nature. Tour guide introduce the story and construction of rock to us. He said this path was made by indigenous people who wants to migrate from north to south. Although they could walk through the mountain ridge, the opportunity to be killed was very high due to offence to other tribesman.

You didn't come into this world.  You came out of it, like a wave from the ocean.  You are not a stranger here.  Alan Watts

“If you struggle with something you do not even know what it is , just relax and embrace to nature as your teacher.”

“To think about why stars shine at night, what is the ocean come from? How birds singing? Then will find an illustration and answer of your issue.”

When I walking at that moment, I thinking as well. But I know no matter how far I walk, there is one thing would not change is learn from nature.

We all come from different place however Alangyi Trail bring us together.

Some people from Taiwan and some form Japan, America and Canada.

Alangyi Trail is not a tourist attraction even some Taiwanese never been to here.

But we did it ! And we also got a certificate !
